Is it the same if you do an "Advanced Search" or just the "Simple" search?

Morning all,  I have this problem and have been told that my Web Browser can't deal with certain Cookies or my Firewall settings are too high.  {I know nothing about computers so rely on others}  Kaja.

The problem occurs when I click 2, 3, 4, etc so I guess simple. But today is OK because I'm on page 2 now. It's not so much of a problem for me because I just come back later.  Sometimes I don't Log in I just check. Maybe this is the answer.

I didn't need to log on this morning so the very first thing I did was to compare the situation now with what was happening in the wee small hours. It seems to be the same.
My browser is I/E6.02900.2180 running on Windows XP Home'
When my cursor enters the area at the top of the page where the ads are, the arrow changes to a hand but clicking on any ad brings nix. I think it has always been like that ever since I joined Rooschat.
I have no acceleration software unless someone has planted it without my knowledge.
When the search returns multiple pages the first page is shown [1] and the rest are in reddy/brown colour. When the cursor travels over the red numbers nothing happens but when I click on a red number the arrow changes to hand but nothing happens otherwise.
The situation is the same whether simple or advanced search is used.
Oh and I have no problem sequencing pages in a thread. It's just search where the gremlin applies.
I hope this helps Trystan. I am sure we are not grumbling at you or anyone and I hope that helps too Grin
It could be self-inflicted by cookies etc too Roll Eyes

Like the others I'm using;

1.Internet Explorer 5
2.Window 98 SE
3.Ads work fine
4.Only additional running software:Zone Alarm,AVG Anti Virus

Hi,

For the past couple of days I have been trying to use the "Search Rootschat" option. I can read the first page of posts fine but when I try to click on following pages nothing happens.

Any ideas or is it just me Undecided

Thanks,

Me too, so there's clearly some technical issue at the RootsChat end, and not on our pcs!

Hi everyone,

When I use "search rootschat" and put in "Swansea" it gives me page 1 and says at the top, "pages 1,2,3.....10", but when I try to move on to another page it doesn't go anywhere.

Can anyone explain or help please?

Thanks,

Bev.    Huh

Hi Bev,

It work's OK for me at the moment - just click on one of the 2/3..10 numbers to see them all

RC is having slight problems at the moment - so try again and see what happens.

Cheers

Hi Bev,

this a is a known problem with the RootsChats search function.
("Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" or "It works for some, but not for others")

I can't remember if a solution was found or not; I'll have a look, but maybe someone else will know.
