People Researching their roots needed for 'The Paul O'Grady Show'
« on: Monday 15 October 07 12:19 BST (UK) »

Hi,

We are currently looking into doing a short piece on people researching their roots in Scotland.  We need individuals who have just started looking or have already obtained some information but need some expert help.

I would really appreciate if you could get back to me if you are interested.

Regards
Sandra

Hello Sandra, I have been working on my family tree for a number of years but have got to a brick wall where my great grandmother is concerned, her name is Mary Campbell daughter of John Campbell and Jeanie (m.s.)Campbell, I have all the information from her husband and children but nothing much other than a marriage certificate, Searching for her has been very difficult. Thanks Annie

Hi Julzy and ScotsbabeAnnie
I get the feeling that they will not be looking for someone who has been researching for years. I think that they will want someone who has just started and is stuck at their grandparents. Roll Eyes

I can’t imagine that they will want to spend too much time trying to break down any serious brick walls

….. Having said that, I’d be willing to go on the show and pretend to be surprised when they uncover my family history. Shocked

I’m sure we’d be ok…. No-one would find out it was fake… would they?   Roll Eyes

Identity theft perhaps.
Ask Paul O'Grady, she would know.

Hi Sandra,
sounds really good.  I am stuck in 1744 at the moment! Have a convict on one side transported to goodness knows where for stealing washing!  Another ancestor fought in the Peninsular War.  Trouble is I'm not exactly photogenic and very shy so don't think I could go on TV.  Maybe if you got Kate Winslet to be me Cheesy
good luck with your quest
