I am looking for the marriage of Daniel Winch b 1719 Ticehurst to a Judith ? about 1738 - 1741.
I have checked the Ticehurst register. There first six children were baptised in Ticehurst the last three at West Hoathy Both Daniel and Judith were buried at East Grinstead.
I am also looking for the marriage of Richard Winch to a Mary ? on 9.6.1701
the reason I am asking is that I have found two different transcriptions with different surnames for Mary.

Thanks for looking as far as I am aware both were in Sussex. I forgot to mention that the two transcriptions for Richard were St Giles Bodiam

Thanks for looking. An alternative spelling was Wynch.
The information on Richard was found at SOG one was an alleged photocopy of the church register the other a transcript by M J Whitson
One showed marriage was to Mary Plumme the other to Mary Herne
I shall have to get more details when I next visit SOG

There could well be a Kent connection.
There is a settlement certificate for Sarah Winch, widow of Daniel Winch, with her son John recorded in Hawkhurst - they would appear to be of Ticehurst, date 1700.
There is a marriage recorded for a Daniel Winch in Ticehurst to Sarah Boreman 4 Feb 1699/1700. He was of Hawkhurst in Kent.

Yes I know of Daniel who married Sarah Boreman, I have extracted all Winch baptisms, marriages and burials for Ticehurst from 1607 to mid 1800s.
My Winch's can be traced back to 1600 in Ticehurst (Quedley)

I have checked the baptisms for Daniel and Judith in Ticehurst Register.
SOG info for Richard Winch was for St Giles Bodiam SX/R34 and SX/R189.
Thanks for looking this is quite a mystery.

I rang East Sussex Records Office in Lewes because I am in Eastbourne this weekend and thought I might be able to get there for an hour or two, they said they have Bodiam Marriages for the date in question on film and said they could send me a photocopy. So I ordered a copy.
Will post result when I receive it.

neither marriage appears on the Sussex Marriage Index. The earliest marriage for a Richard is of a Richard WYNCH in 1706, Mountfield. Could these marriages have happened in Kent maybe?
