' The Den ' - Bognor - 1885
« on: Monday 15 October 07 23:04 UTC (UK) »

I have an 1885 birth certificate which shows that the baby was born at ' The Den ' Bognor - Reg.District - Westhampnett.

I believe this to have been a house and wonder if it is still there ?

Would also like to be able to find a photo of ' The Den ' -
thanks for any help......

Hi Emmeline,
I took an interest in your posting as I used to live just outside Bognor.  There does seem to be a DEN LODGE in Den Road & it's listed as a building of interest;

I couldn't find out anymore about it but you might like to contact the local historian at this site

I would like to know if you find  anything interesting  Smiley

Hi Emmeline,

West Sussex Past Pictures website have two pictures of 'The Den' Bognor Regis and says it was just off the High Street and was previously called 'Sudley Cottage' It was extended in the 1860s by the Earl of Strathmore (Claude Bowes-Lyon)!  It was demolished in the 1940s.  Could this be the one?
