All the births, deaths and marriages for Snape/Well etc should be registered in the above area .. apart from this one death:

Death, Mar qtr 1861
Elizabeth Hodgson
Bedale, Vol 9d, page 333

I'm afraid that's the lot for a possible Elizabeth. Surely she can't have still been alive a few months before the census was taken on the 7th April 1861?

It looks like you will have to order the birth certificate for Amos to ascertain who his mother was?

thankyou so much for your help. I have a feeling a cousin of mine has a copy of the birth cert, going to email him now and ask if i can have a copy.
