CUPPAGE/BONE - connection needed
« on: Wednesday 17 October 07 12:16 BST (UK) »

Hi

This is a long shot but sks out there will help me, won't you [lol]

I have the following:

John Bone b1824 in Cumberland - my 3x great grandfather on my fathers maternal side, married Agnes ? (late 1840's-early 1850's)

grandson Tom Cuppage Bone b1890 Egremont, Cumberland

Agnes Cuppage b 1819 Beckermet, Cumberland - my 7th cousin 4x removed on my fathers paternal side, have her on the 1841 census with parents but cannot find her on the 1851 census

Could the two sides of the family be linked 50 years earlier than first thought.

I have checked Ancestry and Family Search without any luck.

Many thanks for your time.

Regards

Isn't this the marriage?

Marriages Dec 1850
Bown    John        Whitehaven    25   177
Cuppage    Agnes         Whitehaven    25   177
Howgego    Sarah Elizabeth         Whitehaven    25   177
Shaw    John         Whitehaven    25   177
Spence    John         Whitehaven    25   177
Thompson    Mary         Whitehaven    25   177

Perhaps they were the BONEs in Haile in 1851

HO107/2437/409/1

The age of Agness BONE is unclear ... it could just as easily be 30 as 80.

Hi Geoff

You are absolutely wonderful

Many thanks for this.

I have only just started to investigate the Bone side of my family so still have a long way to go.
