Sorry it's the only one Parky Sad

Maybe the church clerk, misheard the name as it was being spoken, seems odd there are no others and i have not come across the name in Little Waltham or Barnston records which seem to have a lot of the same names as Gt Waltham.

hi Kath,
we always believed that the Roast name came from German origin but i was recently told by someone that it infact got altered spelling wise from rost which was a bit of a surprise to us.Maybe it was down to local accents.
If you come across this surname could you pass any finds on to me as this might help me get a bit farther back than what i am now.thankyou again
    best wishes parky96

Brilliant. Many thanks Kath.

By the way, have you looked at the Great Waltham Baptisms 1813 - 1867 for your Fewell names yet? It's just that I've got them and would happily go through them for you if you haven't already.  Wink
