Would someone kindly post the information for me for:
1841 George Cosens b. c. 1806
1851 Betsey Cosens b. c. 1812 (husband George as above)
They were residing in Hampshire at the times of these censuses.
I have them marrying March 23, 1841 in Stourbridge. George was born in Jamaica, the West Indies.
Thank you, Susan

Hi again Karenlee,
Thank you for all your great help. I wonder who all these children are that are living with them in 1841. Have you seen the original document? I'm wondering if any of these kids could be Cosens but hard to read. George was widowed when he married Betsey in 1841.
Regards, Susan

Nope, their surnames were not COSENS. I have seen the original page... my guess would be that they were students. Betsey was a governess and George a Minister.................. in those days one of his roles would have been education of the children of the district.
Does not look like they had children, either before their marriage, or together.

Don't know how much information you already have on George, but I have found several mentions of him on the web when I Googled his name. It looks as if he was in the Channel Ilands before he went to Staffordshire.

Thank you, Karenlee.
I actually know very little.
I have a note of Betsey marrying a William Pedie in 1831 when she is 18, in Walsall. I assume he died. I haven't seen either her marriage record to William or George and would love to confirm these.
What did you find on the Channel Islands?
