Hi, I,m looking for information on JAMES GOODBRAND who married JEAN/JANE FLETT on 12th July 1827 at Cullen.
I checked the IGI and found that they had 11 children (1 submitted but probably correct). The first 3 children were born in Cullen between 1827 and 1834, the others were born in Fordyce.
Does anyone have any information on this couple(my ggggrandparents) that they are willing to share?

Hi,
I wondered if you've looked here? http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp
A quick people search brings up 71 results for the surname Goodbrand, some from Cullen...couldn't see James Goodbrand or Jean Flett but it could have some of their children.

Hi Wozzle, you found them !! I'm sure this is the right family. the name and ages of the children are almost perfect.
1841 Census - JAMES - I have a JOHN b 23rd Oct 1827 ,I think this must be him.
JEAN - was born on 5th March 1841 so this should read 3 wks or mths depending on the date of the census.
ANN - b.4th Mar 1839 is missing but may have been elsewhere or died young.
1861 Census
JAMES - I think may well have been a daughter JEAN (my GGGrandmother) who would just have turned 20 yrs.
The only other child missing is WILLIAM b 2nd Oct 1845 but again they could be visiting or dead. It does seem strange that there is no official record of a son James however the submitted child on the IGI is a James c 1851.
To answer your question, I'm not sure when they died but think they were alive in Sept 1868 when my GGGrandmother married.
Thanks for your help and anything else you happen across I'd be delighted to hear about.
