Isaac Grainger « on: Monday 22 October 07 16:02 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information relating to Isaac grainger who was born in 1773 in Dudley in Worcestershire, he married Sarah Lilley in 1799 and they had 9 children. Can anyone tell me anything about his parents John Grainger married Sarah Hartland.
According to the IGI there are 2 more christenings for children of John and Sarah Grainger/Granger:
Hannah Granger bpt 30 June 1776 St Thomas, Dudley
Frederick Granger 28 Dec 1782, St Thomas Dudley
The IGI also show an extracted marriage of a John Granger and Sarah Hartland on 31 March 1755 at Sedgley, Stafford; this seems too far away in time but the area is almost right!

Thank you for this information. It now confirms without any doubt that the Grainger (Grangers) came from Dudley and also confirms that I am now on the right track and have finally found a lot of my ancestors.
I dont mean to be vain but what does IGI stand for?
It stands for International Genealogical Index; you can access it on www.familysearch.org. Extracted records should be safe, as they are from parish records ,but submitted ones must be checked as details are often guessed at.
