Hi Steph,
Do you know where and when William and Mary married or where their son was baptised?
As I know to my cost, Burnham is badly covered on the IGI and, with it being close to Oxon and even closer to Berks, I don't envy you trying to find them.
If you have any snippet of info that might narrow it down a little, I can look up a few Oxon parishes.
Also, have you considered a Bucks FHS name search - very reasonable, check out their website.

All the info I have is William Wilcox b. c1776 Burnham, d.1862 Upton with Chelvey m. Mary Brampton b c 1776 Oxfordshire, d 1848 Eton Wick Son James b 1804 Burnham m Martha Binfield b c1813 Hooknorton, Oxon d 1882 Burnham, married 12/10/1849 Burnham. My info on James came from my mum's cousin; info on William was from a web site called marisancestry but her site's down at the minute so I couldn't go back. I've just double checked my Phillimore's for Bucks using variant spellings but nothing. My ancestry cds have also revealed little apart from the fact that there are loads of Bamptons and very few Bramptons. I've looked at family history online but there appears nothing there of any value. Looks like a Bucks FHS search is a good idea although with different counties I've often forked out for little result! (Although ruling out possibilities can be just as valuable). Regards Steph

I'd be tempted to go for the name search, otherwise - with Burnham - you're pretty stuck. And, apart from the lady specially imported from Oxfordshire, they don't seem to have wandered far - Burnham, Eton, Upton.
All I can help with is a couple of possibly related marriages in Burnham. I've got them on a CD, but only up to 1812.
Francis Wilcox & Ann Powell of New Windsor, by licence on 5.9.1775 (could possibly be William's parents?)
William Woods & Anne Wilcox 18.10.1795 ( a sister?)
Sorry I can't help more.
