I have seen a photograph of a grocers/tea dealers on the corner of Aritizan Road, Northampton c 1900. The name was Sabey.
Not being familiar with the area I don't know which corner it would have been.
If anyone is familiar with the area now could they tell me if it is an area that has changed a lot since the early 1900s. Would the building still be there? Or if anyone can find an entry in a trades directory. I am familiar with the Historical Directories site so if it can be found there can anybody find it. I have been unable to find it. Again probably lack of knowledge of the area.

Thanks for that wozzle. You have the right person and I have found them in other censuses. I wonder if between censuses there had been a move. The photo is very clear with a large window with Sabey on it. Unfortunately there does not appear to be an initial. Perhaps it goes back further than we think.
On the Historical Directories web site if you put in the word Sabey under the 1903 listing for Northamptonshire or go to page 184 it lists Sabey as being on the corner of Artizan Rd and Wellingborough Rd.
