Smith/Mackay
« on: Tuesday 23 October 07 21:04 BST (UK) »

My 3xGt Grandparents Anne Smith & Robert Mackay were married in Eyemouth 7th Oct 1798.

All I have is a list of their 6 daughters:Barbara,Agnes Ure,,Alice,Anne,Jane & Margaret

I don't have a clue where Robert & Anne originated or dates of birth-just nothing.

Their daughter Alice married Kennedy Sinclair (my 2x Gt Grandparents)

Any help with Robert & Anne appreciated

Regards

Hello Beckey,

Thank you for this info from the 1851C.

Apart from John Mackay(Brother) U 33 Saddler

I can only assume that Anne Nisbet Wid 44 Dressmaker was also a Mackay originally.

My only problem then is sorting out where my Robert Mackay fits if at all.

Because he married Anne Smith in 1798 I would think he could be too old to be their brother.

However,at least it looks as though the Mackays/Smiths did originate from Berwick.

Hi again Beckey,

I must have had a senior moment,it happens often these days.

Yes,I have worked it out

Anne Nisbet ( Wid )was the daughter of Robert & Alice Mackay & of course John Mackay - brother was their son.

Heyho silly me.

Thanks again

Agnes             W  M  38                 Berwick,Eyemouth.
Robert             S       11  Scholar        "               ".
Thomas           S        7       "               "               ".
John                S        6       "               "               ".
