1901 Census look Up - SMITH - COMPLETED thanks!
« on: Wednesday 24 October 07 23:17 BST (UK) »

I know I'm asking a lot here but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

I'm trying to find the parents of Emily Rose Smith, born approximately 1880 but just a guess really.  She had siblings Lizzie, Anne and possibly David.  They seem to have moved around a lot - Crewe, Eastleigh and Nantwich but I don't know what ages they were or when they moved.

Thanks in advance,

MissM

Hi Kaz

Thanks for your hard work tonight.  It was the parents names I needed and I'm sure this is the family I'm looking for!  I suppose Emily Rose could've been staying elsewhere.   I'll also check out her birth certificate.

The only name difference is the son, James/David but I am working with my 82 year old father in law on this and although you could easily knock 10 years off his age, he wasn't sure about David.

I can't wait to tell him tomorrow what you've found out for us so very many thanks!   Grin  He'll also be thrilled there's a lawyer in the family!!

Hi Iria

Thanks for all the info.  I was still looking (although I should be in bed...)

I was a bit thrown by Annie's age as she went from second youngest to oldest but I think the mistake is in the 1891 where she's recorded as 6 instead of 10.  I can see how that could happen but now you've confirmed it for me with the 1901 age of 20.

And thanks for correcting Thomas's occupation - I'm glad I didn't get round to my FIL before you told me Thomas wasn't a Lawyer after all!! Grin

I think I've found Elizabeth in 1881 staying with people from the medical profession in Halifax so there's something interesting to investigate!

Thanks again for all your help.  I love Rootschat!
