Every time I open a new page at rootschat, I am getting a pop-up warning from PC-Cillin saying that I have attempted to open a dangerous website, called www.ftjcfx.com/image-1. I have just been closing the pop-up and carrying on. This has been going on for a few weeks now. It didn't used to come up for every page, but it seems to be now. It happens only rarely when I visit other websites. Can anyone tell me what is the matter?

I've done various searches on google and tech forums but can't find an answer. Why it should only happen on RC I am baffled.
On Google searches, if you shorten the URL taking out the /image-1 bit, you are redirected to a site called commission junction. I've no idea how ligit this site is but they are talking about spam and refer to the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
Does PC Cillin not give you the option to clean the problem? I've not used PC Cillin before so don't know how it works. Rather than just close the pop-up, I suggest you allow PC Cillin to correct any issue if it gives you the option.
Sounds like you've got a bug of some sort that needs cured but why it only occurs on RC I don't know
Good luck
Dave

Cheers Trystan. That's good to know for the future. It still doesn't explain the glitch that loo is having. Even odder when you think that PC Cillin is finding the problem and is also one of the advertisers on the site. Dave

Hi I also get the same pop-up on Rootschat and have PC-Cillin. The warning relates to Web Advertising. I'm also getting it on a couple of other sites such as FreeCEN and my son gets it on a couple of his reputable sites. I haven't had a good luck yet to see if I can stop them on particular sites. Andy

I've gone through Trend Micro Tech Support and found this link. Hopefully, if you follow the instructions, it should solve your problem. Perhaps one of you that is experienced should try it first and then let others know the outcome. Let us know how you get on. Dave

Hi
I tried to fix it last night but it didn't seem to work. I tried it again now and it seems to work. One thing it doesn't say in the instructions (at least that I saw) is to make sure you activate the Web Site Filter on the first page of the Web Site Access Controls. I've also selected the button to allow access to most sites (except blocked) Lets see if it continues to work Andy

thanks for the help. I will get my husband to try to do this when he has time (!), as I have no significant literacy in computers. Glad to hear no one thinks it's lethal!
It's not happening right at the moment actually. I do get it on some other sites, but some of them are ones I wouldn't want to return to anyway, and none are ones that I use heavily.
[Oops - spoke too soon. It did appear again when I posted this. At the bottom it give me the option of "stopping these warnings", but I wasn't sure that that was what I wanted to do.]

Hi Loo The "stopping these warnings" message takes you to a help file that is very similar to the link Daval57 put up. The problem I've found is that if you follow the directions and add the site to Approved Web Sites you then have to either select the button to "Only allow Access on your approved list" which would be a nightmare as you would have to add every site you want to go to, or you can scroll down the categories and select Web Advertisment (thats the category thats causing messages on Rootschat) Activate Web Site Filter, and allow access to most sites except Blocked and the categories you want blocked. The problem with this is that you are likely to find access denied to many other websites that you want to go to. It denied me access to Streetmap.co.uk. I've decided that at this stage to put up with the messages. Andy

Just thought I would try and download the trial version to see whether I could replicate your problem. First message i got was "Unable to continue.Easy instal requires IE6 or later".
Do you guys all use Internet Explorer to access the net?
If so, perhaps you want to use another Browser - Firefox is very popular and usage is overtaking IE by miles. No guarantee this will solve your problem but it might be worth a try.
