I am hooked on this.
Did anyone just watch this on BBC Wales at 20:30? Three families have gone to live in miner's cottages with no electricity, no running water, a lack of beds, toilets down the garden, and one acquired a lodger, so someone is short of a bed.
It's running three times this week mon/wed/fri at 8.30 pm on bbc 1 wales and tues/thurs bbc2 wales. Got it through the sky box which now works as a digibox.

Thanks very much for the link. I think I'll be watching them all. I love these programmes. Also I've printed off the list of when the programmes are on. Great.

It's 1927 isn't it? Just after the General Strike. There are some interesting comments about this show on www.welshcoalmines.co.uk Chit Chat forum.

BBC 2 on Saturday 27 October a new 10 part series at 5.55 pm
In the Welsh valleys 3 families give up today comforts to relive life in 1927.
Men go down the pit and women have to labour round the clock to keep the household running

It's been riveting. I have been watching it on BBCWales (through the sky/digibox). Think I will watch the re-run on Sat an' all.

Yes, it's really interesting - I live in Wales and have seen the first three episodes on BBC1 Wales.
My only confusion came when the narrator said the women do 18 hours per day chores in one breath and then in another said that the families go to bed at 9pm to save energy and be up early the next morning - but if the women do 18 hours chores they'd be getting up at 3am to fit it all in
