MOSES STANAWAY « on: Friday 26 October 07 23:31 BST (UK) »
HI I am a new member to roots I am looking for any information relating To Moses Stanaway date of birth about 1820 in Oldbury he was married to Ann (nee:Meek) Moses died in July 1852 No death Certificate found only buriel details listed can anyone help?
Hi Joan Thankyou for your reply the information you have given me is part of our tree the death is that of his baby son. Moses snr died in July 1852 and the buriel records gave us this information but we have come to a standstill as there isn't a death certificate for him in the sandwell records which means he must have died outside of the sandwell area.

Hi Joan Yes Ann Carr and Ann Meek are the same person we hav e found them on the 1851 census but no sign of Moses snr any place after that until the cemetry records in 1852. He was a miner so I am beginning to suspect he must have died whilst working in another town and been brought back to oldbury to be buried.

Registering of births and deaths was not compulsory until 1874. There are many Ancestors who have no birth or death certificates before this date, people just did not bother. mrswoman.
