Clingan's in Dumfriesshire

Trying to tie up some loose ends with Clingan surname.
I know that a couple of families from the Clingan's of Kirkpatrick Durham end up in Dumfries or its immediate surrounds. However, there a couple of families, in particular the ones in Hollywood, where they appear to be connected with Dumfries but I think they might be from the KPD lot in some way. However cannot pin point where or how at the moment.
My query is this, is there anyone in the Dumfries/shire area who has some knowledge of these Clingan's or actively researching them?
