Printing and bookbinding apprentices???
« on: Sunday 28 October 07 10:14 GMT (UK) »

My 4th great grandfather Philip Spencer (bapt. 13 Jun 1800 St. Michael Derby) was a printer and book binder.
I'm aware of a William Spencer printer at 42 Full St. Derby (and paper maker & dealer of Green Lane) - does anyone know where I might locate business records, or evidence of apprenticeship indentures??

Thanks

The apprentice bindings and some of the other records would have originally been held in Derby Guildhall.  They may still be there or in a local repository but the most likely place is the county record office
