Browsing through Google Book Search earlier today, I found a result that seemed to show that a John WASTIE was the MP for Oxford City between 1807-18 and 1820-30.
Can anyone help me verify this?

Thanks for your reply. I also spotted this one whilst having a Google, but would really like to find him listed in black and white in an "official" record of MPs (something that I don't seem able to find on the internet!).
John Ingram LOCKHART was MP for Oxford 1807/18 and 1820/30. In 1831 Parliament allowed him to change his surname to WASTIE (he had married Mary Gibbard WASTIE of Cowley, Oxon. in 1804), presumably to carry on the family name.
