Hi Shipwright, Thankyou so much for your help very much appreciated, From what I have found so far , I have three possibly four generations of Fawcett's who were born Whitby and all seamen. What you have given me is much appreciated. Kind Regards Ebony ps am I right in assuming if John and Mary were married at St Mary's Parish Church then there children would be baptised there too.

Hi, more help if possible on my Fawcett's please. I can't find Thomas Fawcett born 1817 Whitby on 1841 Census or 1851 Cenus, his parents were James Fawcett and Hannah Cowper/Cooper, who married 1813 Whitby.

Thomas was a Waterman, his father a waterman too. Not sure if he would have been away at time of census. Any help apprecited. Ebony

Hi Cat One, Is it possible to tell me if the Thomas Fawcett you found in 1851 in hospital was married, because mine was but not with his wife and children she was living with parents John Lambert and Ann.  I have Thomas's marriage cert and states he was a waterman in November 1841 when in married Margaret Lambert. Kind Regards Ebony
