restoration
« on: Monday 29 October 07 13:43 GMT (UK) »

This is not actually Liz, I am comming at you with an inquiry, My mum showed me the picture that Liz sent in of my Mother and Stepfather's wedding day, I have to say a great big thank you, although she is still crying she loves it. The inquiry is I am writting a book on Clifford's life and albeit it can now be concluded, it contains 30 or more old photo's, I am not asking for you experts to restore all these photo's although they are in need of something, just to part with the name of the software you are using to do these amazing makeovers, and I do realize it is as much about expertise as it is software, but hopefully I will learn how to use it.
Thank you for your time

Kevin

Hi Kevin
So glad you and your mother liked the restores. We love to hear the results of our work have brought a little smile to someone.
I personally use Photoshop but I know some use Elements and I believe there is a free one you can download called Gimp.
Although you want to restore the photos yourself we would love to do more for you., so please share  Grin

Kevin,

You can always put a few on here at a time , one photo per posting and scanned at least 300ppi , I'm quite sure they will get done. Then you can pick out the ones you prefer.

Kevin,

Take advantage while it is a little bit quiet = our mice start to squeak if they don't get used.

I have Photoshop and  Elements 5 (6 has just come out) Elements is about a 1/10th of the price of Photoshop and has most of the functions you will ever need unless you are a designer.

I have also used The Gimp which seems to have most of the funtions of both and as Irene says is free.

Another is PaintshopPro which is similar to Elements but about £10 more.

Of course it depends on the Operating System

As far as I know, there is not yet a Gimp compatible with Windows Vista
