Hi there all at Roots Chat.

I have been talking today to a very good friend about family tree's and I said I would try to find her roots with the help of you.

Her grandfather was Levison Sherratt born about 1870 around Newhall, Burton on Trent. Her grandmother was Alice nee Belcher, I think born in the same area.

Is there anyone who can help me please. Kiss

Have got them on 1901, I can also see 1891 but he won't be on 1871 - not born until 1872 Roll Eyes

Newhall, Derbyshire

Thomas Sherratt – head – 40 – coal miner – born Sharpswood? Derbyshire
Ann – wife – 36 – born Swadlincote, Derbys
Joseph – 16 – coalminer born ditto
Sarah – 11 – scholar born Newhall
Levison (transcribed as LEVERSON) – 9 – scholar born Newhall

There is a Thomas Sherratt marries Ann Staley 1864 3rd quarter

Registered Burton on Trent 6b Pg 443

Looks highly likely, but to be sure would be better getting son's birth cert.

Strange cannot find birth for Levison Huh

But have found Joseph Born 1864 3rd quarter
Dist- Burton on Trent 6b Pg 304

and

But have found Sarah Born 1869 3rd quarter
Dist- Burton on Trent 6b Pg 333

There is this birth,

Leveson SHERRARD Sep Q 1871 Burton Upon Trent v.6b p.350

the image does show SHERRARD but I wonder if it's a mistranscription from the original as it would fit this IGI record,

Christening: 02 SEP 1883 Saint Johns, Newhall, Derby
Father: Thomas SHERRATT
Mother: Ann
