Hi,
I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about any Rossiter families born or living in Wambrook and Chardstock.
Any information would be greatly appreciated please. TIA.
Best wishes

Hi rcuser,
Have you checked www.dorset-opc.com? Looks as though there is some census data there for both Chardstock and Wambrook.

Hi nanny jan,
Thanks for that.
I had tried the site but couldn't find the info I wanted at Charstock & the link at Wambrook did not work for some reason.
Best wishes

Hi rcuser,
If you go to the Miscellaneous page you might be able to get into Wambrook that way. Is it possible to contact the opc responsible for those areas to ask if they can do a look-up for you?

Hi Nanny Jan,
Thanks for that.
Tried the site a couple of times during the day but there was no change and I had other things to do.
Many of the OPC sites are run by volunteers who are no doubt stretched coping with enquiries, maintaining the site as well as trying to sort out their own lives. As it wasn't urgent I wasn't going to add to their burden.
I'll try again in a couple of weeks when hopefully things will have sorted themselves. I still have a couple of other sources to try yet so I might get lucky.
Pity really that with all their records the government does not provide a national genealogy service instead of relying on volunteers.
Have a good day.
Best wishes
