Hi,JAMES and ANNE SAVORY,residents of Curbridge,nr Witney. These are their children as listed in the parish register of St Mary,Witney.
JAMES,Bapt,Jan 4,1751.
MARY, Bapt,Feb 7.1755.
ANNA MARIA,Bapt,May23,1759.
THOMAS,Bapt,June29,1761.
WYNEFREDE,Bapt,March23,1764.
JOHN,Bapt,Jan3,1766.
*ANNE,Buried June6,1769,no age given.
JAMES,Buried Nov14,1804,no age given,resident of Lew,nr Curbridge.
Cannot locate marriage between James and Anne in Witney,Standlake,.or Stanton Harcourt parish records. It could be possibly Bampton.Do you know where they were married?
If I can help with anything else let me know.

Broady here again.Must mention that James Savory buried on Nov14,is the only James Savory recorded in the registers.I can only assume that the one mentioned is the father and not the son, unless you know different.
                               Cheers.

Hi
I have arrived home and checked my CD for Witney PR's that i have. My info matches yours.I notice the  CD shows the following on the burial register
1769 6 Jun SAVORY Ann w. James, Curbridge.
As James Bapt 1751 parents are shown as James and Anne I guess James (senor)  must have died before Anne therefore James (junior) buried Nov 14 1804.Maybe James (Senior) is buried in another parish also marriage to Anne however I do not know which one!
This CD also shows John Savory buried 16 May 1804.
If I can help the CD I have is Oxfordshire Family History society's of parish register transcripts Witney Registration District Vol 1
James Savory (senior) is my 6th Great Grandfather .

Regards

Hi Steve, just to clarify for you.Ann Savory, buried June6,1769,w James of Curbridge. This tells us she was the wife of James which in turn tells us that James senior is living not dead.Had James passed before Ann she would have been listed as widow.
I still think your best bet would be to obtain OXF-WIT 02 from www ofhs.org .uk This has the bmd for Bampton, which is probably your best bet.If I do come across anything I will let you  know.
