Cannot locate marriage between James and Anne in Witney,Standlake,.or Stanton Harcourt parish records. It could be possibly Bampton.Do you know where they were married? If I can help with anything else let me know. Broady.

Broady here again.Must mention that James Savory buried on Nov14,is the only James Savory recorded in the registers.I can only assume that the one mentioned is the father and not the son, unless you know different. Cheers.

Hi Steve, just to clarify for you.Ann Savory, buried June6,1769,w James of Curbridge. This tells us she was the wife of James which in turn tells us that James senior is living not dead.Had James passed before Ann she would have been listed as widow. I still think your best bet would be to obtain OXF-WIT 02 from www ofhs.org .uk This has the bmd for Bampton, which is probably your best bet.If I do come across anything I will let you know. Broady.
