MY GGG Grandfather was William Marshall b Kimpton 1801. His parents were John and Ruth Marshall nee Gurney.
He appears in 1841 census but dies in 1847. His wife is shown as Elisabeth b Sandridge c1803 in all censi up to 1881.
I want to find out when and where they married and what Elisabeth's maiden name was. They probably married around 1826
If someone could look up pre 1837 records to see if they can find them?
Thanks
Chris Marshall

I have checked the BVRI as the coverage for Herts is good but the only marriage that I can find appears to be too late, though....William's age and father's name are correct.
MARSHALL, William aged 36 to Elizabeth MUNT age 34 7 Oct 1837 Redbourn, Herts Husband's Father: John MARSHALL Wife's Father: Joseph MUNT

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I will investigate and let you know the outcome-could be his second wife?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris
I cannot find the first marriage, but this could be the 1st Mrs MARSHALL's burial.
Charlotte MARSHALL buried 15 Mar 1837, Aged 35, St Mary Redbourn
He didn't waste much time did he!

Chris
I am going to move this post across to the completed board. Why not post another request for William and Charlotte's marriage in case someone is going to HALS and can check for you?
