Hi Judy!

I just checked...no, they had feathers!!!  Well not stand up feathers but ones styled on a headress that went to one side. The neckline was a 'sweetheart' neckline (adult bridesmaids) with long sleeves & the younger bridesmaid had a high neckline & short sleeves & elbow length gloves.  Her headress is slightly more stand upish.  Same composition of the group too. My Mum's bouquet was very similar to the one in your pic.

As for my turn soon.... Shocked   Grin

Oh well. I was going to go for pre war for this one with those Art Deco headdresses. Not that I'd know, but looks like my guess is way off Embarrassed

Hi Judy
I did wonder if the date could have been a little earlier. Do you remember Queen Elizabeth's bridesmaids had similar headresses in 1947. Of course you don't! Look up a pic on Google and see the similarities. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I thought so too, but digging through some old stuff of mum's I see it was actually Elizabeth's tiara that looked like that...the bridesmaids wore...something else...not quite sure what it is but has a laurel wreath style...tribute to Philip maybe?

Cheers,
China
PS sorry I had to break up the balcony scene, couldn't get the whole thing on the scanner...
