Hi again
Could someone please try and find a family for me in Devon?
I have tried and tried but to no avail.
The details are :-
William Ellis born c. 1800-1810
Rebecca Ellis born c. 1800-1810
They were married on 3rd Aug 1827 in Paignton and her maiden name was Andrews.
They had 5 children all born in Paignton, Devon:-
William 1828 Ann 1830 Thomas 1832 (Known to be a fisherman in 1851) Henry 1834 Mary 1836
William was a labourer according to Thomas' marriage cert of July 1853.
Any help as always would be greatly received.
Thanks
Ian

Thanks all,
I think you have come up with some possibilities. I know I've looked at the one Tati located and ignored it as the name was wrong. However, driving home just now I thought what if Rebecca died after giving birth to Mary?
I have looked on IGI but only came up with a 6 year old, and FreeBMD came up with an 1840 death. This one would fit but then the marriage Tati has found wouldn't. It does look quite a likely marriage between William and Charlotte with Sarah presumeably her younger sister living with them.
I suppose the next thing would be to risk a marriage certificate to see if William was a widower.
Bearing in mind the marriage date would mean Rebecca's death would probably fall outside the 1837 Act but it may be in a burial record? Are there any ways to look up burials in the area. I'm afraid I don't know the area at all, I've been there on holiday but not for years!
Thanks for now
Ian

Thanks to your help I've now traced William/Charlotte through to the 1871 census and possibly Charlotte as a nurse again in 1881 ( place of birth is wrong, although in the previous ones she has been born in Dublin and Cork!)
I've tried FreeBMD again and found four possible deaths for William. William is the person I'm the most interested in, along with Rebecca as they were my GGG Grandparents but when I start on the sibling expansion of my tree I'll need to come back to Charlotte possibly.
