Wanted - Newhall history booklets by Josh Williams
« on: Tuesday 30 October 07 20:34 GMT (UK) »

A cheery hello to each interested reader of this message Smiley  Smiley

In the 1980s Josh Williams published 2 books on Newhall - 'Newhall Past and Present', and, 'Newhall Memories'.

As a PARKER descendent - a very common surname in Newhall in the past and most involved in the dreadful occupation of coalmining - I am very keen to track down copies of these booklets.
I'm hoping to link up with people who know of these or who can tell me a little about Newhall and its history or maybe other publications etc.

I am in Australia so can't trawl through second hand book shops etc
fingers crossed

Joy

Such a quick reply Sarah - many thanks.   Kiss

I have ordered that copy - so - fingers crossed again that it arrives.

I had given up searching for these booklets on the internet as they had never appeared.

Hi Joy,

Which PARKER line are you?  I am related to the PARKERs, among many other South Derbyshire families, and have done extensive research on the Newhall families.  You are welcome to email me via the link.

Regards and best wishes,

Hi Brett

We have been in contact several times in the past years - in fact you are the person that sorted out my PARKER lines and pointed out to me all the research done by yourself and others.
For that I will be forever grateful.

I am a descendent of Joseph and Sophia PARKER through their daughter Ambrosine.
