Can anyone please help me find:

Samuel Smith b abt 1861 in Malvern     Basketmaker - living McIntyre Road, Worcester
Eliza his wife  b abt 1862

They are listed with their 8 children in 1901 in Worcester but I cant for the life of me find them prior to that.

They should have Percy, Bertram, Richard and Walter with them in 1891. My Grandfather said he grew up with Sam Smith in Guarlford, nr Malvern.

I sorry to ask but I'm going cross eyed, thank you.

Mike

Samuel Smith and Eliza and 8 children appear in the 1901 census. He is a basketmaker.
Prior to that I cant find them, they should be in the Malvern/Worcester area.

Please can anyone find a reference prior to this.

The children are Percy, Bertram, Richard, Walter, Gladys,   these next three are less than 10 in 1901 Ada, Harry and Lizzie so wont appear prior to the 1901.

Thank you

Mike

I am sorry about the double post.

I was halfway through the first message when my internet connection went off. I resumed and got a message from the board that my post was not successful as it had no title and no message. So I started again only to find the first message had posted.

Perhaps the moderator could remove one of them please.

Thank you for this link, I had lost all hope of finding them. Mind you I was fixed on the local area and had not looked further afield. Perhaps a mesage for us all there?

Thank again

Mike sometimes these things do happen - I sent the same PM to
the same person twice yesterday because something similar happened to me!  Grin

Would you like me to see if I can find Samuel in 1871?

Kind regards,

Oooh I feel so useless sometimes.

I.ve search for hours and not found him.

Yes it is Clevelode, thats where the basket makers used to work. My Grandfather used to help the salmon fishermen on the river Severn at Clevelode.

All this started from a conversation recorded at my 21st birthday party, (1961) when my wife's adopted parents met my Grandad. We have only just succeded in gettiing it off a very old reel to reel tape recorder and onto the PC to edit it.  They talked about Sam Smith who was the father of my wife's adopted Mum, and set off this wild goose chase.

Many thanks.
