It could be a corruption of Wratten which seems almost exclusive to Beds. & Cambs.

looking on the full bmd 1866-1920 there were no Raton births and there were nly 10 Ratton births! must be quite a rare name easier to research?? (maybe)

            I did find out after much searching the origin is Scottish and English.
