Hello there
So Sorry I just have made that clearer... yes the Birmingham is the name of the ship.
I don't know if you are aware of this but you purchase and dowload a certificate from Victoria on line paying but credit Card
long link to online.justice.vic.gov.au/
A victoria birth certificate for one of those children will give you a very good lot of information
this is what you will find on a Victorian Birth Certificate Births Date and place of birth; name of child and whether present or not; name of parents (including mother's maiden name); occupation of parents; ages and birthplace of parents; date and place of marriage of parents; previous children of their marriage noting living or deceased; signature, description and address of the person who gave the information; names of witnesses; date and place of registation.
So it is well worth the cost of one on the birth certificates for one of the children born in Victoria if funds permit.
It is the only way to officially verify who the parents are.
kind regards Jenn

May i ask if you would be able to verify for me that John Hardley was born in Cambridgeshire UK 1832. Given that he may have been Hartley i'm now not so sure.
Hi
The shipping record will have where they're from. They came assisted passage.
I'll check it out at the library for you.
regards
Genni

Hi Kaye, I am pretty sure that PORT is the abbreviation for Portland.
I am sure one of the Victorian Rootschatters will correct me if I am wrong.
