Thanks Ricky ...it does look like the correct family Smiley
Is that ditto for Henry as a lace hand but not Jane?: was Jane thus unemployed or a scholar at that time..She had joined the family in the textile industry at some stage before 1851 Smiley That is also interesting as I hadn't realised Jane had brothers called Alfred and Joseph as I don't remember them on the 1851 census Smiley

Thank you  Grin

Hi JulJul

Double checked and it as posted, only 2 in the family working,  Thomas and Henry, the others had nothing against their names.

Hi

Do you think Jane Blackton could have remarried at some stage under her married name of Blackton  Roll Eyes [Jane Blackton: 1854 Derby June Q: 7b, 6*], since Joseph Blackton had remarried in 1853 [Derby June Q: 7b, 612]. Is there any way of knowing who this Jane Blackton married in 1854 with an entry lik 6* from using websites suvh as FreeBMD.

Thanks
Kind regards

Hi,

There was another Jane Blackton in Derby in the 1851 living with her parents and born Darley c.1827.

Looking at the actual image for the reference of the Jane who married June Qtr. 1854 it shows that the page number is actually 642.  There are two possible spouses listed - Charles Gaskin and William Chadwick on the same page.

On the 1861 census it would appear that the above Jane married Charles Gaskin.
They are living in St. Peter Derby and Jane was born Darley.

So not the Jane you are after as I am certain she died.

Mo
