Hi listers
Does anyone know anything about James Beaumont, who was born in Ely, Cambridgeshire about 1786 and who died there about 1844? He married Sarah ?, who was born about 1791. One of their many children was Susannah, who was my great great grandmother.
Thanks
Cyfrifydd

Hi Ericx
Yes, that certainly helps, thanks very much!
Might your discs hold the christening of Sarah Barnard? I think it would have been about 1789/1791, judging by the census ages.
And, being really cheeky, James and Sarah had lots of children: Mary A, born 1814 died 1814, Elizabeth, born 1816, Barnard, born 1817 died 1819, Sarah, born 1820, Thomas, born 1823, another Mary A, born 1825 died 1827, Susanna, born 1826, Harriet, born 1831 and (maybe) Maria, born 1835.
An indicator on the Cambridgeshire Family History Society database of baptisms suggests that there is 'more than the normal information on the parish record'.
If you have any further information on this family, I'd be delighted to receive it.
With many thanks for anything you might come up with
Cyfrifydd

Cyfrifydd, After your PM of earlier today I'll probably be able to get to the CCRO late next week to have a good look at those relevant transcripted records for more details (hopefully). keith Will post the findings on this thread...

Cyfrifydd, Had a look in the Ely Holy Trinity registers, and I couldn't find any more details on the baptismal entries, only that in 1814 James is down as a "soldier", in 1820 as a "labourer", in 1823 described again as a "soldier", then in 1825 and in 1831 as a "publican". Harriet's baptism is definitely there in 1831, but no sign of a Maria... Regards, keith
