Would be grateful for a look up on 1871 census for

Frederick SWEETMAN    aged  49     born  Wartling
Samuel                      son        18
Jane                          dau         12
Frederick W               son         10
Ann                            dau          8
Thomas Henry           son           5
Caroline                     dau         baby

Should be living Herstmonceux

Thanks.   The 1881 census transcription gives this family as Wissam.   This couple 'adopted' Caroline when her mother died 1870.   That is why I am interested in where the children ended up.   Father Frederick died in 1872.   By 1881 can only find some of the children

what children can you not find in 1881.
i can see samuel in 1891 but not 1881 RG12/2781/60/13.
i can see ann in 1881. RG11/1039/32/24.
i can see thomas in 1881(transcribed as sweatman) RG11/1043/7/7.
i can see jane in 1881(married jesse smith in 1878 in hailsham) RG11/1042/48/5.

don't think you will find samuel in 1901
in 1891 he was in derbyshire
there is a death index which could well be him.
