could anyony lookup a baptism for Edwin Lane born 1842 in Ash (1881 census)
There are several possibles on GRO index and so am unable to pinpoint the correct one

sorry to trouble you again - There seems to be several "Ash" places in Kent. Could you clarify which Ash you sent the information for ie the one by Sevonoaks, Sandwhich or Wrotham.

On the 1841 - they were living at Turners Oak in Ash which is shown on the index as follows:
Civil Parish: Ash
Hundred: Axton, Dartford and Wilmington
Registration district: Dartford
Sub-registration district: Farningham
Sorry - I have no personal knowledge of the Kent area (I live in Lancashire) so can't really say whether it was near to any of the 3 areas you mention
