I looked at the back of the book in the trades.
(I needed a trade first as it's alphabetical order within the trade!)

Where will you go from here? How about eloectoral registers?
I've only used the ones that are slightly older than this, but they gave other premises such as a business, and its address. Might also gove the occupation and certainly should give the list of voters at the address,
Have you checked for a wiol for either of the brothers?

I haven't a clue at the minute, we've several pots on the boil so to speak as we're tracking down living members as well.
I'll check the electoral roll for that year and see what comes up. If it is our granddad it's fantastic news. I have a strong feeling it is.

I would really appreciate a look up for my hubby's missing grandfather Edwin Birchall (also known as Ted, Eddie) He left the family in 1945 never to return again. Thanks to other's on Roots we found that he emigrated to Oz in 1985 and died in Adelaide in 1990. But we are pretty sure he stayed around the Manchester area until then.
Could you also give me details of any TIVEY family members
