Milly, if you go to the history centre in Woking check out the records for Frimley Council Infants School which are held in the Camberley section. Edith Snook was head teacher there circa 1913 per Kellys Directory http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/index.asp .

The best place to start is probably the school minutes:

CC18/2 Frimley Council infants school: minutes Camberley 1922 1936

 CEM/86 Frimley Council Infants school minutes, 1905 - 1922, 1936 - 1960

There are more records for that school in the National Archives at Kew.

I am interested in this thread as have a fair few teachers in tree.  Someone referred to Register of Teachers.  Is that national one or for each county?  On one side both grandparents were teachers and post 1914 (Kent).  Is any registration available online to search?  It would be nice to fill out details of a teaching career especially early years.

Hi Anne,

British Origins offers access to the records of the Teachers Registration Council
http://www.originsnetwork.com/help/popup-aboutbo-teachers.htm

Or you could try posting a look-up request.
