I am looking for the names of the daughters of Samuel and Agnes Ellen Walker. Samuel was born in Willey near Rugby in 1880, married Agnes Miles (known as Nellie?) in 1905 in Oxfordshire and they lived in the Rugby area. I believe they were living at Catthorpe - technically Leicestershire but only 4 miles from Rugby - for the latter part of, if not all, their married life.
Does anyone know the proper names of their two daughters? My mother only knew them as Aunts Cis and Dorsh - no help trying to find their possible births amongst a lot of Walkers listed for the area!
Thanks.

Could be -
Cicely Ivy Walker Apr/Jun 1908 Rugby Doris May Walker Jul/Sep 1907 Rugby
Do you know when, where and what their Surname was when they died? Could get at their names that way.

Hello Jean
Thanks for the input. I have a few bits of information about them. When Samuel and Agnes died Cis married and she moved a few miles from Catthorpe to Countesthorpe. Dorsh moved with them and when Cis' husband died the sisters continued living together, Cis being the first to die.
I have no idea who Cis married or I could look for her death. I have looked at Doris Walker deaths in Leicester and the only one I can find was born 2 Jun 1908, which knocks Cicely Ivy out of it.
Cis's cousin (my grandmother) was always known as Cissy and her name was Ellen! So Cis could have been anything. It may have meant 'Sis' as in sister. The trouble is that getting a death certificate is not going to tell me whether I've actually got Dorsh.
The only way is going to be buying birth certificates until I find the right parents.
Sue

When asking for a birth cert. make a condition that the mothers name is Agnes Walker, then you won't have to pay for all and sundry.

I've got the birth certificate and it's Doris Walker born SEP 1908 in New Bilton. So that puts paid to Cicely - Cis could be any one of the Walker female births.
Now I know which death cert to send off for although I'm not sure that's going to get me any further, I can but try.
