I believe he was married before, in Littleport? Also, he had more children than that - not sure if you know?
1871 RG10/1606 15 18 Littleport, Cambridgeshire Church Street Nathan Pettitt, head, 29, Groom Elizur, wife, 25 Luezer, dau, 4, scholar James, son, 3, scholar
All born Littleport
Can't find them in 1881 right now - will search later
1891 RG12/4016 58 29 Eston, Yorkshire Grangetown 87 Vickers St 4 rooms occupied Nathan Pettit, head, 50, Ironstone Miner, b. Cambridgeshire Littleport Elizabeth, wife, 40, b. Norfolk Sporle Ellen A, dau, 16, b. Yorkshire Saltburn? Herbert W, son, 11, scholar, b. Cambridgeshire Littleport Alice, dau, 9, scholar, b. Yorkshire Guisbro Nathan, son, 6, b. Grangetown Lily, dau, 2, b. do.
Where's Elizabeth Ann? She's not with the family in 1901 either Nor can I see a birth for her!

Catherine Sandys, I will find out where you went.

From Boyds marriage index
1836 / PETTET JAMES / BUTCHER HANNAH /LITTLEPORT
A likely Butcher one, but can't be sure and needs checking.
1798 / BUTCHER RIC/ CRABB MARY /LITTLEPORT

According to Camdex, James Petit was baptised in Littleport in 1802, the son of James and Rebecca, so found the following marriage.
1801 / PETIK JAS / HARLEY REB / LITTLEPORT
