My little paperweight!

Cluness

Hello fellow Zetland descendants,

I have two Cluness individuals in my direct ancestry, both of whom seem to have no earlier antecedents:

1.  Elizabeth Cluness who married George Gray about 1790.  I have the 1841 census which records an Elizabeth Gray, wife of George, being aged 80 years but I do not know if that Elizabeth is my Elizabeth Cluness, or a second wife of George.

2.  Helen Cluness born 13 July 1740 to Jacob Cluness.  Helen married Peter Petrie.  I am looking particularly for Helen's mother's identity.

The son of Elizabeth Cluness (Peter Gray) married the granddaughter of Helen Cluness (Barbara Petrie).

Any additional information concerning the Cluness families would be greatly appreciated.  I would also like to hear from any other descendants of either family.

Sincerely,
Susan
