i am trying to find any info about mary ferguson born, i think at castledouglas, date unknown but she gave birth to a daughter in 1936 who was adopted at birth. thanks, carlingford.

Unless she was born before 1906, her birth would not be on the main source of Scottish Records - www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

It is possible to contact the General Records Office for Scotland (GROS) . This link gives you the information:

Also, it would be wise to delete the name of her daughter as the person might still be alive and Rootschat policy is not to name living people. You can do this by pressing the Modify button on the top right of your message and just deleting the name and then pressing save.

Hi again

I've checked SP for possible births before the 1906 cut off but can find none in Kelton, Kirkcudbrightshire which is the Parish for Castle Douglas. The nearest is a Mary Lizzie Ferguson, born Tongland in 1905. Tongland is a neighbouring parish to Kelton.
