Could any of you suggest what the 3 addresses here say. One is Putney one Richmond, where it says Father Henry and the last a Southampton address. It is from an ancestors RMLI joining up papers from Aug 1900.We believe dad died and mum moved to Southampton.
Many thanks to Peter Bennett for suggesting I add it here, cos I couldn't do it on the Surrey page
All suggestions gratefully received
Happy New Year one and all.

I would humbly ( and it is humbly 'cos I've been out to the neighbours for a glass of wine (or two at least) ) suggest that the address in Richmond in the right-hand box says:
(F) Harry, Sheen Rd., Richmond.
The address in Southampton looks like Portewood Rd, but I can't find a modern map of Southampton at present.
The Putney address looks like Por..something Rd. but again can't see anything like it in the A-Z.

Hi: Re the address on the left I'm pretty sure the first word is Inglenook -the house name. Nice and cosy sounding. I'm less certain about the next line but after looking up my A-Z I think it might be Portinscale Road SW15 which is in Putney which is the last word. I'll carry on looking for other possibilities and the other address

I've decided that a visit to my neighbour(s) is necessary. I may be some time...

Clincher- yeah I'd decided on Inglenook, but didn't know of Portinscale Rd Having just checked it on 1901 gov site I find a few possibles. Now all I need is to find which of the Putney/Wandsworth districts it is in.
Little Nell- we are certain his fathers name is Henry. I too tried Portewood Road and it doesn't exist on www.streetmap.co.uk now Are we all going round to Little Nell's neighbour? I'm sure these images would be easier to read if I were sloshed first
Oh well back to the chocolates and yet more cold turkey
Keep the ideas coming friends
