gar
That is brilliant. I couldn't upload the original sized photo, as it was too large.

Looks much better.

Hi Sue
I hadn't seen this post from you, thanks very much for this. I shall have a jolly good go at trying to read whats on the gravestone when I get back. I'm off for two days to an Archaeological Congress at Deventer, the Netherlands.
It also appears that Nehemiah was married twice, something I've only recently discovered. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,266629.0.html
Anyway, thanks again and all the best

Take a good torch/flashlight with you when visiting the churchyard.

It is surprising how the way light shines onto a headstone will often enhance the lettering enabling better reading of the names etc.

I met a Canadian researcher in Hintlesham churchyard and the headstones were not very clear, we went for lunch in the nearby 'George' (a local hostelry) and in the afternoon the light was at a completely different angle and the lettering was much easier to read.

Dew yew take care yew doan't fall over bor!

SM ...
a couple of miles from Sudbury

PS  In fact, I photographed a pedigree which is written on the walls of All Saints for another researcher a few years ago - access to the church itself was by key from the Vicarage which is within the grounds.  However, that was sold off last year.  Might be worth checking access if you wish to visit the church too www.suffolkchurches.co.uk might have a note  Huh

Well I went back to see if I could read the inscription. Sad to say, I couldn't make out any more than was on the photograph. Cry Cry

Took some more photos.

This one a full shot of the tomb.
