Click to see a list of Bunmahon miner's children born between 1864 to 1881. Copper mining at Bunmahon dates back to about 1730. Click here to read the history of the mines in this area. An extract of an article from July/August 2005 "The Copper Coast" written by George Munday describes the living and working conditions of the miners. They earned low wages and there were several hundred people living in just ninety bothans (mud huts).
