I don't know exactly what you asked Lincolnshire Archives re the marriage certificate but unless you have the page number, the entry number of the certificate, whether the bride and groom were 'of this parish' or another, their status, whether the marriage was by licence or after banns, the names of the witnesses, and which parties signed or made their mark, then there is a lot of information and documentation still to be gained from obtaining a copy of the entry in the PR.

Hello

I now have the documentation from the Lincolnshire Archives:

Marriages solemnised in the Parish of Spalding in the year 1825 Page 8 no. 22. Joseph Holton of this Parish, bachelor, and Ann Barton of this Parish, widow, were married in this Church by Banns this Fourth day of December 1825 By me...illegible. This marriage was solemnised between us Joseph Holton Ann Barton (both handwritten) In the Presence of Elias Billars (?) and Elizabeth Barton - The Ring.

I've tried a different approach - searching the IGI for baptisms (1805-25) using random father's names and mother Ann - this finds me-

Elizabeth BARTON 20 Feb 1810 at Spalding, dau of George and Ann and no others.  If George died before 1813, he would not be in the NBI.

Hmm, that's looking a bit more interesting - there is an Elizabeth Barton as witness to the marriage.

In the Presence of Elias Billars (?) ...

Glad you seem to be getting somewhere Smiley

There are 3 such people in Spalding in the 1841 census (father, son and grandson?) aged 70, 40 and 15, indexed as BELLAIRS/BELLAIRE.

Elizabeth BARTON probably married Thomas ROBSON in 1831 (IGI).  A Thomas ROBSON (47) from Spalding was widowed and living in Boston in 1851 - however his wife in 1841 was Hannah (eldest child aged 8 ).  Possibly a marriage to Hannah SUDBERY in Q4 1837.  Then she died in Boston in Q4 1849.

There's no obvious death or burial for a suitable Elizabeth ROBSON though Huh

The more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.
