i am a Wharton from the kirkby Stephan area . I have relative's stones in ks. graveyard and many connections to the area . i also have extensive trees and info about the Wharton family and their married relatives . these date back to 1700's tho i also have a fair bit of social history . i am always anxious to share and find out more . i am particularly looking for relative s to Elizabeth Younger . i think i was corresponding with someone on rootschat but i have lost the contact .
hope i hear from anyone interested in the Wharton's particularly or the area . thanks .

Hi,Saw your post when I did a seach for Wharton's.I have a Wharton family in my tree who appear to have come from Darlington and then moved to Barnard Castle. I have a Johana Wharton,christened 23 11 1764 in St Cuthberts,Darlington,father John and mother Sarah,possibly Scruton.John and Sarah married 14 12 1763.Johann'a siblings possibly were Ann 10 6 1767,John 25 3 1770 and a defo for Gerrard Blisson Wharton who was christened 31 10 1773 in Barnard Castle.I know for certain the Gerrard was Johanna's brother. Any link?

Hi , i have many many isabella whartons in my line but they are from Waitby , ravenstonedale area . i do have several trees so i can look them up for you idf you like . give me some clues Huh

Hiya, I'm a WHARTON living in Nottingham UK and tracing my relatives back to Cumbria.  Started researching earlier this year but gave up due to frustration but now ready to start again!  I'll dig out my notes and see if I have anything that might help.Take Care

hi all

I am doing tree and have whartons in, MY g g grandfather was albert william wharton,he married ?
sanderson, his son was albert william wharton think he lived for some time in new zealand before coming back to england, he was b 1911? He married daisy elizabeth woolnough and they had 3 children peter wharton albert william wharton (deceased) and david wharton (deceased he died 1965 age 20 due to accident while in merchant navy) I think my grandad had some step siblings but do
not know their names
