What part of Wales did John Hughes come from and when was he born?
Might be able to help as I have a lot of Denbighshire/Montgomeryshire records.
Mind you, John Hughes is not that easy to find - one up from John Jones and John Roberts. I have all three in abundance

Sorry Gadget. That is a big problem. I do not know
I have John Edward Hughes born Sept 9th 1894 Shrewsbury. (Married to Lily Turner same birthday, but 1892)
His mother is Hannah Hughes, and his father is a Mr Cox the Baker
Hannah Hughes was born in Wales, and her parents are ( as told by great aunt) Hannah and John Hughes.
Not sure which part of Wales, sorry

AH - it's coming back to me now - Telford/Wellington area wasn't it. We had a good look around a few weeks ago.

The pub was called the Plough and Harrows Inn, no Cox's and just one Hughes in 1891.
Cheers Ian
