Just posting here on the off chance that a search engine might one day direct a Bearman relative my way.
During the first world war and possibly longer my Bearman family lived at 15 Malyons Terrace, Ladywell Lewisham.
I know this because it is the address on Ross Bearman (Bertie Ross 1898 - 1918) attestation papers, also on the attestation papers of his brother Frederick Charles Bearman(1890) and the CWGC has it as the address of brother James (1893-1917). All three boys born Greenwich. Frederick Charles emigrated to Canada - don't know what happened after that.
Still don't know what happened to Edmond/Edmund (depends on which census you are reading) born 1887 Greenwich. Charles Alfred born 1895 Greenwich, sisters Lily Alice M, Greenwich 1885, Elizabeth c 1889 Greenwich and Alice Dorothy 1901. Lily Alice looks to have married Verdi James F Howard in 1907.
Head of the family Frederick William probably worked at the nearby railway station, died in 1929 in Lewisham. His wife was Martha.
My great grandad was William John born 1882 Greenwich and he is already married with a family of his own living in Greenwich in 1911 when my grandad was born.
Surely out of 9 children, even given that 2 of their young men perished during the first world war....anyway here's hoping one day there will be a contact.
thanks Siouxzie
